Technology has the power to facilitate access to justice or to lock people out of the justice system altogether. Fifteen years ago, the Washington Supreme Court adopted Access to Justice Technology Principles. Now, following a two-year process, the court has adopted a new set of Technology Principles, crafted for today’s world of smart phones and artificial intelligence and sensitive to the needs of Washington’s diverse communities and those with unequal access to the internet.
