Client Stories
Jill, a Vancouver mother lived with violence from her husband, Bob, and feared for the safety of her daughter. After years of abuse to both Jill and her child, Bob fired his gun inside the home, threatening his family with death, and then shot himself. After surviving the attempted suicide, Bob sought visitation rights to his daughter. With the help of an attorney from the Northwest Justice Project, the court imposed significant procedural safeguards to ensure the safety of both Jill and her young daughter. Without representation for Jill, an extremely unstable and dangerously violent man would have had unsupervised access to his daughter.
