We’re launching a new State Plan Collaboratory in June! We are focusing on Goal 4 – Holistic Client Services. Check out the following trainings and resource-sharing opportunities focused on using holistic models!
WSBA Legal Lunchbox™ – “Holistic Justice: Client-Centered Services” Webcast
Tuesday, June 26, 2018 – 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. – 1.5 CLE Credits – Free
Reserve your spot here!
The 2015 Civil Legal Needs Study revealed that on average, low-income people will experience more than nine civil legal problems annually. Experience tells us that these problems are often intertwined and if legal practitioners only focus on one problem, other problems may arise or the initial problem will resurface. As advisor, advocate and evaluator, lawyers can better serve their clients by using a holistic, client-centered approach. A panel of lawyers practicing in a diverse range of areas will share how to develop holistic service models to improve long-term outcomes for clients. They will also provide practical strategies on how to work with clients to prioritize legal and non-legal needs, develop strategies to meet those needs, and how to strengthen partnerships and collaborations to address the full scope of your clients’ needs. Our panelists include:
- Riddhi Mukhopadhyay, Sexual Violence Legal Services
- Joshua Treybig, King County Department of Public Defense’s Collateral Consequences Team
- Catherine West, Northwest Justice Project’s Medical Legal Partnership
