Doug Baldwin, retired Seahawks wide-receiver & racial justice advocate, is the keynote speaker of the Goldmark Luncheon this year! We have an opportunity coming up to shed light on racial justice and systemic reforms to increase equal justice in the state of Washington, and we want you to be part of the conversation.
Join us virtually for the 2021 Goldmark Award Luncheon and help us raise funds to support equal access to justice for low-income people in the state of Washington.
The Legal Foundation of Washington (LFW) envisions a society where poverty and race are not impediments to justice and works to increase access to civil legal aid for low-income people. Last year, we funded legal aid for 36,000 families in poverty and supported high-impact litigation and advocacy to advance justice and eliminate structural racism. Each year, LFW provides funding to 40 civil justice organizations across Washington state including Columbia Legal Services, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, TeamChild, King County Bar Pro Bono Program, Benefits Law Center, Unemployment Law Project, and more.
LFW believes that creating fair access to civil justice requires undoing systemic racial oppression. As the Justices of the Washington State Supreme Court wrote in June of 2020, “the legal community must recognize that we all bear responsibility for this ongoing injustice, and that we are capable of taking steps to address it, if only we have the courage and the will.”
Help us spread the word by inviting your friends to register. We look forward to seeing you virtually on February 5 to raise funds for equal justice!
