1:00pm-1:30pm Intros and introduction to residential tenancies in Washington State. Chelsea Hicks will go over the agenda and discuss the types of residential tenancies that present themselves in unlawful detainers and the available resources to attorneys defending these renters.

1:30pm-2:25pm Show Cause 101: Mark Morzol will go through the procedure and practice of unlawful detainer show cause hearings in Superior Court.

2:25pm – 3:20pm Using the RLTA and other laws to reinstate tenancies after a judgment for nonpayment: Ed Witter will train attendees on the remedies available to reinstate a tenancy when the tenant is sued for nonpayment of rent and how to preserve tenancies with available resources.

3:25pm-4pm Reasonable accommodations and fair housing in eviction defense: Scott Crain will present on the fair housing laws that apply in residential tenancies and how they arise as defenses to eviction.
