Course Objectives:

• We will understand common terms, as we talk about the racialization of power and privilege.
• We will become familiar with the manifestations of racialized power and privilege: historically, institutionally and structurally.
• We will develop skills and goals for interrupting and challenging racialized power and privilege.

Racial Equity Consultants:
We operate from a lens of anti-racism to elevate the conversation about racial equity, as a way of transforming systems of oppression and healing from the dehumanization of white supremacy. As social justice educators experienced in culturally responsive practices, Racial Equity Consultants facilitate interactive, activity based conversations about race, racism, and intersectionality. We are a cross-racial team experienced in building capacity to challenge internal and external systems of oppression in order to create transformational, systemic and sustainable change. This training is designed to build participant knowledge and awareness while creating an authentic and brave space to begin to hold challenging conversations about race.
