Meet in Walgreens parking lot at the corner of Sullivan and Sprague in Spokane Valley.
Come together for a silent protest to denounce hate acts, racism and white nationalism in our neighborhoods.
We will line up single file on the sidewalks of all 4 corners of the intersection of Sullivan and Sprague, facing the street with our signs and/or holding hands.
No bullhorns, shouting or talking.
All members of the 4th Legislative District: Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Otis Orchards, Millwood are asked and encouraged to attend to show solidarity.
Racism exists in our district, and without going into the local politicians who deny or enable this behavior, …please read below for some recent blatant acts.
In September: White nationalist propaganda was found in numerous books at Barnes & Noble.
In October: Morning Star Baptist Church was littered with neo-nazi flyers promoting white supremacist ideology.
In November: A rock, with a racist message wrapped around it, was thrown through the window of Julie Garcia’s house, who is a known advocate for the houseless community.
We need to send a strong visable message to our community that we stand together against acts of racism.
