About this Event
The Washington Immigrant Defense Network (WIDEN), in collaboration with Washington State minority bar associations, presents an in-depth, online training in immigration removal defense law for non-immigration lawyers. We are grateful for the outreach by non-immigration lawyers that have expressed an interest in using their legal skills to help in the ongoing immigration crisis. This CLE will provide the training to provide such support. Leading immigration lawyers in Washington State will present at this event, which sold out in 2019. CLE credits pending.

Special guests that have been invited but pending confirmation are: WA Governor Jay Inslee, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and King County Executive Dow Constantine.

Train Online at Your Own Pace
While replacing an in-person training with an online training presents challenges both to trainers and participants, WIDEN’s leadership believes that it is imperative that we continue to build resources to address the anticipated surge for representation driven by a possible SCOTUS ruling against DACA. This decision is expected by June of this year.

To make this as easy as possible, we have broken down training into five, one-hour sessions that participants can complete at their own pace by May 18, 2020. Two one-hour sessions will be live, including the introduction on May 11, and the conclusion on May 18, 2020.
